Mary assists closely held businesses with selecting a business entity; navigating employee and administrative matters; and negotiating and documenting contractual agreements. Mary also guides personal representatives and trustees through probate and trust administration and prepares wills, trusts, and other estate planning and business succession documents. A native Oregonian, Mary attended a one-room school in Malheur County through the third grade and is a graduate of Baker High School. Before entering private practice, Mary clerked with the Oregon Tax Court for two years.
Mary serves as Co-Chair of the Public Relations Committee of Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS), and she previously served as Chair of the Oregon State Bar Legal Heritage Interest Group in 2013 and as President of Queen’s Bench, the Multnomah County Chapter of OWLS, in 2014. Mary was a co-founder of the Oregon State Bar Taxation Section Mentor Program, and she has mentored several new lawyers through that program as well as the Oregon State Bar New Lawyer Mentor Program.
